Shipping Studies
A Sensitech® Shipping Study is a cost-effective service that helps companies determine the thermal variability of a specific trade or shipping lane. Sensitech has been providing analysis of cold chain storage and distribution systems for more than 15 years to all stages of the industrial supply chain.
Sensitech’s Shipping Study offerings fall into two categories: Ambient Thermal Profile development and Performance Qualification (PQ).
By conducting an Ambient Thermal Profile, the many variables that help to determine the thermal variability of a specific trade lane, such as transit modes, carrier types, delivery times, weather and season, service levels, and routes, can be effectively explored.
Performance Qualification studies are designed to evaluate if a shipping system is maintaining the product temperature as per design specifications and requirements in the actual distribution environment. In other words, the PQ answers the question - does the box perform as expected in repetitive field tests?
Sensitech provides in-depth monitoring and analysis, and delivers highly detailed documentation to assist customers in complying with regulatory and industry standards-based guidance. This information helps to identify the optimal balance between controllable costs and uncontrollable risks.
